This town was settled by Scottish immigrants who brought a work ethic that is second to none. They built structures that still stand today as a testament to their ingenuity. Many historic sites within the Town include: the Searles School, the Searles Castle, owned and renovated by the Sisters of Mercy, and the "Town Center" building, the location of the Town Hall, Planning Department, Senior Center, Bartley House and the Armstrong Memorial Building, the latter of which houses the Town's museum.
